Biography
Jie Ren, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tongji University. He has been engaged in the preparation, modification, processing and application of biodegradable polymer materials-polylactic acid for a long time. As the project leader, he has undertaken and completed various scientific research projects entrusted by the national “863” plan special project, the National Development and Reform Commission “Biomass Engineering” demonstration project, the Shanghai major basic research project, the first batch of Shanghai “Science and Education Revitalizing the City” major scientific and technological industrialization project, and well-known domestic and foreign enterprises (Boeing company of the United States, SAIC group, etc.). He has edited one English monograph: “Biodegradable Poly (lactic acid): Synthesis, Modification, Processing and Applications” (Springer, Germany), three Chinese monographs: “Polylactic Acid” (Chemical Industry Press, National Key Book of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan), “Degradable and Absorbable Materials” (Chemical Industry Press), “Bio-based Chemical Fiber Production and Application” (China Textile Press), and co-edited one textbook: “Polymer-based Composite Materials”. He also has published more than 300 papers in domestic and foreign academic journals in this field, among which more than 170 SCI papers have been cited more than 6300 times, with an H-index of 45. He has applied for more than 120 domestic and foreign invention patents, among which more than 100 national invention patents have been authorized, and 3 US and European invention patents have been authorized.
Research Interests
Preparation, modification and application of biomass polymer material polylactic acid;
the research and application of nano and biomedical materials such as tissue repair, drug/gene targeted delivery, tumor diagnosis and imaging;
the research and application of bio-based polymer materials in fibers and textiles, packaging materials, engineering plastics, green buildings, automobiles and aircrafts;
Research on new polymer processing technologies: reactive extrusion, electrospinning, supercritical fluid technology, microwave synthesis, etc.
